I found the experience very positive. I booked a family room requesting a fold away and it was there when I arrived. The restaurant staff, seeing we had two young children, presented them with kiddie menus and crayons, took our order and brought out their food in a timely manner. The pool was very children friendly, had floating devices and was a nice temperature. I will be returning the Oriel House again.

We are a family of 2 ad & 3 children overall the hotel was perfect for our stay. The kids club catered for our 4 1/2 year old brilliantly , she really enjoyed it & the girls were extremely friendly. I have down graded the service section in the bar & overall staff friendliness , the reason for this was the attitude & service from Constantine in the bar , he was the only negative from the entire weekend which is unfortunate as he let down the other members of staff. We had a dinner for 13 people in the keg bar on one of the evenings to celebrate my mother in laws 60th birthday , he was extremely rude when people went to the bar to order a drink and when my mother in law asked if we could order a round of drinks the answer she got was " you'll be lucky" in a tone that can only be described as disrespectful. As a result we felt uncomfortable and finished our night a little earlier than we would have liked. I approached the manager Damien before check out to share this & apparently we were not the first to complain. He couldn't have been nicer about the situation and was very apologetic. It spoiled our experience which genuinely was a pitty. The remainder of the staff were exceptional so much that my 4 year old commented on how happy and smiley they all were.

Enjoyed a two night break with my sister in March 2014 and really enjoyed our stay. We had a spa treatment booked for our arrival, which we ended up running late for, and the reception staff were more than helpful and told us just to go straight down and worry about checking in when all was done. This was very sound of them, and meant that we got to enjoy the whole treatment booked, so we were very grateful for this. Hotel is lovely, bed was VERY comfortable and bar and restaurant staff and food were top class. Thanks to everyone at Oriel House Hotel for a wonderful weekend! Joanne, Wexford
